How competitive/crowded is your market?

How ready is the market for your product?

If successful, what is the likelihood your company will produce ‘venture-scale’ returns (i.e. >= £1000M in company value at exit/liquidity event)?

How proven is your business model? E.g. it’s dependent on advertising but the company does not yet have users that are valuable to an advertiser.

How proven is your traction? E.g. you don't have product-market fit and are guessing, or you have major competitors.

How technically defensible - based on difficulty to build, not IP - is your product?

How equipped is your current team to build everything you need to build?

How would you rate the technological risk in your plan? I.e. has the team already built the solution or is it still theoretical and needs to be tested?

How confident are you that your cap table has room to accommodate the future fundraising necessary to be successful, whilst maintaining team incentivisation? Investors need to be comfortable that companies can raise later rounds without founders losing their appetite for the company’s continued growth due to dilution.

How dependent is your business on external platforms or partners? i.e. you are dependent on Facebook, Twitter or some other platform.

How interested are you in the problem that this business is trying to solve?

What is the risk your company will need more capital in future than could reasonably be raised?

Do you know of any legal risk of being sued and are there outstanding legal issues? i.e. patent or copyright infringement.

The Change is as much a Catalyst as a Venture firm and hence we will intend to work tightly with early stage teams improving core issues within the firm from lack of governance, to lack of wider aspiration. Sometimes it takes thinking small to think big. Waiting for that key hire and expecting them to join just because you “got funded,” is a non starter for us. Business is a holistic process and you cant run fast with no arms or no legs. We aim to plug your early stage gaps so you can fill them more permanently later.
